Tom Mazur presents: Baby I'm Amazed

This radio program hopefully will attract listeners. I like to tell stories and am inspired daily by being a participant in this life. I realize that all diction is fiction...and yet, it's in the stories we share we are able to weave our own truths. I love this life that is chock full of uncertainties, sadness and absurdities,,,but talking about them, makes me happy.
5/15/19 Public Poetry
Weekly the Buffalo News publishes a poem in its Sunday edition. This weeks poem is from Lisa Wiley an English professor at Erie Community College. I read two of her poems and Richard and I discussed them along with other topics that her words inspired our conversation.

5/1/19 The Conversation
Richard and I sat down and had a chat. A good solid unrehearsed  communication. There were a few pauses here and there because we had no notion of a script. Our friendship spans 40 plus years. We never tire of delving and probing for some truth in our lives. This is what makes it fun.

4/3/19 Nothing is Real
Life is but a dream, a nebulous mirage. True but not true. These are only words playing. What's really real is how you feel in silence. Go to a desert and find out. With special guest: Karen Wickett Krantz.

3/20/19 What's so funny?
Did anybody make you laugh today? Laughter at times works better than tears. And sometimes they go good together. I'm glad we were given the capacity to laugh. I am sometimes accused of not being serious enough but that's not true. I believe that people should have some serious fun in their lives. My goal in life though is to do something that will make someone laugh and cry at the same time. hahaboohoo

3/6/19 Ash Wednesday
Lent is a good time of year to take a time out. All teams do that during a game. It's a time to regroup and do some soul work. It doesn't have to be painful. Start off simple and then make a firm resolve that you will become a better person and then make someone else happy in return.

7/22/18 old friends
Yesterday I stopped in to visit Richard. Today's radio show is a continuation of that visit. But we have included a new friend. Her name is Elizabeth Onusko and she has a poem in this month's current issue of the Sun Magazine. She also paints and is somewhat like a rolling stone maybe. Like most of us, young and old alike.

10/4/17 Absolutely Nothing
War Good God Y'all what is it good for? If we remain silent, would there be no more war? Probably not. So, how do we get along when we can't get along. Simple, by being civil and not continually thinking we have to win someone over. The common ground arrives when the daqgers are down.

9/6/17 Gladness
Gladness is momentary while goodness is not. Of course that's up for debate. But I believe that there is such a thing as innate goodness and even though evil exists I strongly believe that goodness overall will prevail. This makes me glad.

8/2/18 Time Out
We are fortunate because we can reflect. It's a gift. Our time out. A time to discern. Our journey into the desert. And yet, because we are human we need to be with other humans. We need to interact, barter, and be satisfied with the deals we struck. And then reflect on our good fortunes.

7/5/17 Coffee Break
It's not about the coffee as much as it is about the break in the action. Or a break from convention. Or, a break from our own bubble. That's it...take a break from ourselves. Take time out twice a day and find out something special about somebody other than yourself. Or your dog, or the street you walk on.

6/7/17 Stop in the name of love
We were given the gift of pause. How we put it to use is what makes us a loving and tender human being. There is no denying that there is evil in the world, but I believe that more good is available to us. We just have to take the time to discern what it is we wish to be in this realm we dwell in for the moment.

5/3/17 Free Advice
At the end of every day you should ask yourself, what made me laugh today. And if you think nothing at all was funny, then I think you haven't examined your day close enough. I suppose the same goes for sadness too.

3/29/17 you talk to me
Seriously, how else are we going to find out about each other. We need to communicate. We are social beings and even though some may be shy, some may be reclusive, some may be completely out of our minds, the only way we can find out about each other is through communication. Talk, sign, gesture ...sometimes a smile works best at first.
Above all, be human...give it a try.

2/2/17 Black and White in Color
Imagine if life was simply black and white. A pencil note telling you how to live your life. How you should live the golden rule. How  to always remember that there's blood on the end of the pencil. And blood is red and peace is not black and white. And the color of your soul has yet to be determined. And love is sad and deep.

1/25/17 Spare Change
It's easy to put off change because it will ultimately on our comfort zone. That's why it's easy to put it off until tomorrow. And yikes, sometimes tomorrow never comes, so why bother to change at all. Unless you do it now.

1/4/17 Do you promise not to tell?
Tonight we bantered about secrecy in a world that has very little privacy . And like the words of a song that are misunderstood we varied in our opinions about which secrets should be kept. But ultimately the best kept secret is one that is never told to another soul except for maybe God.

10/5/16 A Song For You
As soon as a song comes over the air to make you feel good, another one can come along to make you feel sad. Both are good for you. Sing and dance to all rhythms.

9/21/16 Seeing is Believing
And when you believe something to be true because you took the time to see eye to eye with someone, you know that this dialogue was worthwhile. Keep doing this on a daily basis and before long you will create a village large enough to raise a new generation. A generation that relies on widows, not walls.

9/16/16 Calling A Truce
If we are in this together, what makes us separate. It is the small self or the ego that breeds fear and greed and hatred that we need to call a truce with. If we work towards overcoming the power of small self, it has no where else to go but towards the big self or the cosmic consciousness. So our work is simple, ignore the yipping noise of the small self and concentrate your energies on making all others peaceful, pain free and enlightened.

8/24/16 Coffee Break
Often we need something to kick start our day and a cup of coffee for many is the elixir of choice. Some people will even say that they are miserable without it. I like my coffee first thing in the morning piping hot with a shot of cream...just the way my mom used to drink hers.

8/18/16 How Women Can See Through You
In this episode Tom talks about the women who have influenced him throughout his life, forming the feminine side to his personality. As someone once said to him, “You sound like a man with daughters”. He often looks at his wife talking to his grandson and reflects, “God is she good at that!” It’s a whole different approach to communication

8/10/16 Why I Learned Crap in High School
Richard tonight threw me an early curve and I immediately swung and was taken off topic. ‹This program was supposed to be all about photography and we went with spontaneity instead. In most high school settings this is unacceptable. You must learn what is taught and give back in copy speech in order to get a passing grade. What a shameful way to learn.

8/4/16 Hey Everybody
Tonight Tom and Richard talk a little about sadness and depression and how sometimes a positive attitude may help lift someone from the blues. The blues are something we all go through and sometimes a rainbow may come in handy every now and again. If you think this is a bad idea, we talk a little bit about that too.

7/28/16 What's Mine is Yours
It's like a soup out there and since we're all in this together there's no telling when you're going to bump into a carrot that doesn't agree with you. Should you then throw out the whole bowl of soup. Of course not. Just avoid the carrots until you have learned to develop a taste. And if that's not possible, keep them at bay as best as best as you can. Or at least share them with someone who loves carrots.
